noise-canceling headphones 
One of the most frustrating parts of recording in my home project studio is getting a good sound out of my guitar amp. I use Sennheiser HD212 headphones now, and I'm totally happy with their sound, but when I'm adjusting a mic in front of a loud guitar amp, I get so much of the amp's noise bleeding into my headphones that it's nearly impossible to make intelligent micro-adjustments to the position of the mic. I'm hoping that noise-canceling headphones would be a good solution to this problem but all the reviews I see are written by laymen who use them on airplanes. Does anyone have any input on which models work best for studio applications?
